Hiring Manager
FreeWheel, A Comcast Company
Philadelphia, PA 19103
Dear Hiring Manager,
I am writing to express my interest in the Software Engineer Intern position at FreeWheel, a Comcast Company, as advertised. I am currently a second-year student pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science at The City College of New York and expect to graduate in May 2027. Given my academic background and hands-on project experience, I believe I am a strong candidate for this internship because of my programming skills, experience with web development, and ability to work collaboratively in team environments.
During my time at CodePath Web 101, I honed my skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and successfully developed multiple web-based projects, such as a Human Rights Advocacy Website that featured interactive user functionalities like form validation and a light/dark mode toggle and more that are linked in my GitHub repository. Additionally, I contributed to a Text-Based Adventure Game using C++, demonstrating my ability to implement object-oriented design and employ hashmaps for efficient data management. These experiences align with your preferred qualifications, which seek candidates with knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and web development technologies.
Moreover, my collaborative work within my high school’s Coding and Computer Science Club and participation in machine learning projects demonstrate my ability to contribute effectively in team settings. I have also worked in a group setting in order to create my text based adventure game, for it was a very interactive and big project that needed the work of two other people. Within this team setting, I learned the importance of communication and with that experience I am particularly excited about FreeWheel’s agile product development environment and the opportunity to collaborate with engineers, Product Managers, Scrum Masters, and DevOps teams to enhance my technical skills and gain exposure to real-world industry practices.
I would love the opportunity to further discuss how my background and skills align with FreeWheel’s goals. I am excited about the possibility of contributing to your team and would appreciate the opportunity to interview. Please find my resume attached for your consideration, and feel free to contact me at (631) 202-8401 or [email protected].
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to the possibility of contributing to FreeWheel’s motives and learning from your experienced team, as well as being able to put my skills to use in your corporation.
Sincerely,
Omar A. Quraishi
